Professional Indemnity insurance protects your business in the event of legal action taken against you as a result of the advice and services you provide.   

Who should consider it?

Some industries require you to take out Professional Indemnity insurance depending on the state in which your practice. These industries include law and financial advice, medicine and accounting. Similarly, some of your customers may require you to take out Professional Indemnity insurance. 

Professionals who should also consider Professional Indemnity insurance include anyone offering a service for a fee such as IT Consultants, Architects, Engineers and Graphic Designers although this isn’t required by law. 

Furthermore, you should consider Professional Indemnity insurance if you subcontract to a third party, as you may be liable for their errors.
